Maihiihi Playcentre were given $1,295 towards a special landing mat for babies, which will encourage them to play, communicate and develop their senses while being together in one safe place.
The parent-led playcentre provides children with the opportunity to explore their surroundings in a safe environment, communicate with one another and relate to other children their age and older.
The landing mat will not only provide the older children with a boundary ensuring the babies have a safe and secure environment to play in, but will be a great tool to encourage the children to look out for those younger than them and socialise with children of different age groups.
