Coversham Toy Library

Coversham Toy Library in Dunedin received $944.66 to purchase a range of sensory and toddler music toys, to provide children with a basic understanding of touch, sight, sound and movement.

The library supplies toys to around 230 children in the local community, and the new sensory toys will be an important resource, particularly for children with learning difficulties and special needs.

Children with learning difficulties often have issues developing hand-eye co-ordination, motor skills, conversation skills and social interaction. The toys will greatly help these children, and others in the community, with brain development, particularly in the areas of language, reading and social skills.
